SENNEBOGEN 690 HD with diaphragm wall grab
The youngest addition to the SENNEBOGEN duty cycle crawler crane family, the 690 HD, has been in use together with heavy-duty machines in a special foundation operation. Together with a K610 diaphragm wall grab weighing around 16.5 tons from the Stein Company, curtain walls 60 cm wide and up to 30 m deep are being excavated. A total of around 8,000 m² of subterranean curtain wall is being laid using the SENNEBOGEN 690 HD at this impressive building site. The cable speed of 115 m/min maximum ensures high handling capacity and quick building progress.
The Marienplatz, named after Marie, the sister of the then Grand Duke, is both a historical location and a traffic junction in the heart of the Schwerin Old Town. This is a historic place at which to situate, in prime position, the „Marienplatz-Galerie". Brückner Grundbau GmbH is one of Europe's leading companies for special foundation construction and in the Marienplatz-Galerie building project is responsible for, amongst other things, the building of the diaphragm walls.
As well as professional know-how, a robust and powerful machine with corresponding stability is required. The SENNEBOGEN 690 HD is built for hard use in special foundation construction and, due to its telescopic undercarriage that can be extended from 3.5 to 5 m and its powerful drive, offers excellent stability.
The fully synchronised main winches running in parallel ensure optimum operation of the mechanical diaphragm wall grabber in 2-rope grab operation. Comfortable working from the maXcab cabin and the highly sensitive control of the machine give the best possible aid to the operator. After completion in the spring of 2011, this modern shopping and business centre, with over 50 shops on four levels, is destined to become a magnetic attraction in the centre of Schwerin.
„The steel curtain walls that have been built serve to secure the excavation pit which lies in the ground water. We decided to use the new 690 HD here since its 90-ton carrying capacity and the technical equipment make it the optimum machine for these sorts of applications, and we are very satisfied with the performance and the handling", says Christian Schnetger, site manager at Brückner Grundbau when describing this sophisticated application.
