SENNEBOGEN dealer E.H. Hassell & Sons recently supplied a SENNEBOGEN 6180 HD dragline crawler cranes to Hanson Building Products. With a operating weight of 180 tons it is one of the heaviest crawler cranes that were sold in Great Britain in the last few years. The SENNEBOGEN 6180 HD with its 450 kW electric motor is used for clay mining in Whittlesey / Peterborough and has an absolute key function for the smooth brick production at Hanson Building Products. Equipped with a 30-metre boom, two 30-ton winches and a 6-cu.yd. drag shovel, the 6180 HD is the perfect solution for this demanding job. In clay mining the average excavating depth is app. 20 metres. In order to supply Hanson's two brick works with the required amount of clay, the machine has to tolerate an extremely high strain.
