Two SENNEBOGEN 825 M D-Series optimize paper handling

Fisel GmbH & Co. KG, Recycling and Transport, founded in 1972 and based in Dillingen, Germany is a high-performance, competent and very forward-looking company. The family-run business, now in its second generation, has 70 employees in a plant site measuring around 40,000 m˛. In 2003, the largest paper storage facilities in Europe today were opened in Königsbrunn with 30,000 t of storage capacity. Suitable logistics were also put in place. Since 2004, around Euro 5 million have been invested into the expansion and future of the company.

The wide range of services from Fisel includes the appropriate utilization of waste and recyclable material as well as nationwide transport using large capacity containers and walking floor vehicles predominantly from the recycling, paper and sawmill industry. Since January 1, 2007 packaging polystyrene has been reprocessed to make this raw material available for the synthetic industry. The company development is characterized by continuous growth and innovation. For the industry and manufacturers in the region, the company is a reliable and environmentally aware partner with the best references.

A new waste depot measuring 5000 m² and optimizing paper handling were the reasons for the new acquisition of three SENNEBOGEN machines from the 821 M and 825 M ranges. Fisel GmbH & Co. KG already uses an 821 M and is just as happy with this machine as with the excellent support from SENNEBOGEN dealers Fischer and Schweiger GmbH. This is why the company management and employees alike found it an easy decision when selecting which new machines to purchase.

The new 821 M is fitted with a K9 boom and sorting grab and is put to use in the scrapyard that has been expanded according to the latest guidelines. The two 825 M D-Series are equipped with a K12 boom and orange peel grab especially to optimize paper handling. In future, using the efficiency of these machines means that the Königsbrunn paper storage facilities will process around 150,000 tonnes of scrap paper a year.

Up to 76 truck loads of compacted paper balls from the whole of Europe will be delivered here every day. A stacking truck or the SENNEBOGEN 825 will then store these up to a height of 8 m. For this, a special bale grab has been developed as an attachment. Reaching this enormous storage height ensures an obvious increase in storage capacity. Within max. three months, the stored paper will be delivered in sheets to two paper factories in Augsburg and Schongau. This is transported using vehicles from the Fisel company transport fleet. Every day, 50 trucks leave the paper storage facility.

The two SENNEBOGEN 825 D-Series are exactly what is needed to ensure the paper arrives with the customer in an appropriately loose and lump-free condition. "This task demands the utmost skill from the drivers and enormous efficiency and reliability from the machines. Compacted paper is often harder than steel. We can be confident when we talk about high-performance handling of material here," explains Michael Bacher, manager for the Königsbrunn paper storage facilities at Fisel. Only very experienced drivers can manage to break up the paper balls. In this process, the balls are clipped, taken by the grabber and loosened up by being thrown or dragged about. Two tonnes of material can be on the boom at any one time and are then thrown about from a height of 9 m, which is almost as far as the boom can reach. When the material has been loosened up sufficiently, the containers or walking floor vehicles are loaded up.

This is where the SENNEBOGEN machines show us what they are made of. "Acquiring the two 825 machines means we can clearly increase our handling capabilities. It used to take the driver around 20-25 minutes to load a walking floor vehicle using the old machines. The new 825 machines mean that the driver can now do the same job in half the time," continues Michael Bacher. The powerful six-cylinder TIER III engine with 135 kW ensures there is sufficient power in every situation. "Another big plus are the recycling fins and reversible ventilators with an interval timer. Handling the paper in the warehouse is extremely dusty and often very warm," explains the plant manager.

The drivers were particularly enthusiastic about the maXcab large comfortable cab. "The new sliding door is great. The whole cab is really very good, comfortable and pleasantly air-conditioned," according to Werner Knappe, one of the 825 drivers. "I have a perfect all-round view thanks to the elevating cab. On top of that, the 825 is extremely efficient, stable and it doesn't sway," is how the driver sees it.

Other important factors are the onsite support from dealers and the serviceability of the machines. "Fischer and Schweiger is really always there for us and has a super workshop with excellent staff. The 825 D-Series is very well designed in terms of service. All service points are easy and quick to reach from the ground," says Michael Bacher.

SUMMARY: SENNEBOGEN green line machines make their mark with power, performance and pleasure at reduced operating costs. Groundbreaking technology and outstanding working and safety conditions to achieve the highest productivity and efficiency.
