Kassecker finds SENNEBOGEN 608 Multicrane flexible to use

Franz Kassecker GmbH from Waldsassen, Germany, has been well known for over 100 years in the industry as an active player in the industry for its extraordinary construction work. Since the company was founded in 1902 by master builder Franz Kassecker, it has evolved from an effective construction firm into a modern and forward-looking specialist in all fields of construction. Its affiliation with Bilfinger + Berger opens up a wide range of possibilities for its customers, thereby bringing together the flexibility of a medium-sized business with the comprehensive knowledge of an enterprise.

The principle of always providing the customer with the best possible service is both a requirement and a duty for the 400 committed employees. Modern plant and equipment, advanced technology and a wide range of services make Franz Kassecker GmbH well prepared for the future.

A good example of this is the supply infrastructure of Deisenhofen in the borough of Oberhaching. The structure will be constructed completely from ferroconcrete using in-situ concrete execution. The services to be performed involve the ready-for-use construction of the supply structure including the necessary facilities, pipelines and extension crafts. Particularly with regard to the pipeline construction, the major steel pipeline measuring about 430 meters (up to DN 1600) in the area of the tank needs to be highlighted. Within the scope of this construction site, an underground connection between the Gleißental down hole and the Gleißental shaft is being put in place between two structures.

This is where the SENNEBOGEN 608 Multicrane comes in and puts its whole range of services impressively under the spotlight. With its compact dimensions (4.86 m long, 3 m high and 2.55 m wide) and unique design, the high-performance machine is fast and maneuverable throughout the whole construction site. In building this connecting tunnel, the 608 has been working in some very tight corners. "There is often little room to maneuver on the construction sites. The all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering with three different steering modes mean the 608 is excellent to maneuver in the most confined spaces," says Martin Völkl, SENNEBOGEN 608 driver. The hydrostatic travel drive and the 91 kW strong TIER III engine means the driver can reach speeds of up to 30 km/h.

Fitted with a winch, the 608 Multicrane takes care of formwork and concreting in the first instance. Concret buckets weighing around 2.5 tonnes and formwork components weighing around 800 kg are placed safely and efficiently. "By using a 608, we don't need to use a loader. We can bring the formwork components from the storage yard directly to the construction site, which is quicker and more flexible," explains Martin Völkl. A big plus for cost-effectiveness! The hydraulic quick-changing system enables the tool to be changed in record time. "Therefore, in addition to lifting, I can quickly lift components with the lifting fork or load a truck with a bucket. The 608 is a genuine all-rounder with a lot of power," continues the driver. Using the lifting fork, the maximum load at the maximum range of 18 m is 700 kg. With a winch, the 608 can lift up to 8000 kg.

A key contributor to the machine's effectiveness is the comfortable cab that can be raised higher than 4 m. "You immediately feel at home here. The elevating cab gives me excellent all-round visibility. The operating elements are clearly and ergonomically laid out. I can see everything at once. Handling and working with the 608 is really outstanding," says Martin Völkl.

Thomas Grillmeier, site manager at Kassecker, has only positive things to say about SENNEBOGEN 608 Multicrane: "The machine is exactly what we need in the construction industry. Flexible, economical, powerful, and extremely compact. It often saves us from using other machines and is therefore more cost-effective." Kassecker GmbH has long been using SENNEBOGEN for its construction work. "SENNEBOGEN develops and builds innovative and intelligent solutions to be put into practice. Besides the machines, onsite support from dealers is a deciding factor for us. IBS GmbH in Röthenbach bei St. Wolfgang is providing excellent services here," according to Thomas Grillmeier.
